Greenhope will be a part of the Independent Commission on New York City Criminal Justice and Incarceration Reform (the "Independent Commission") chaired by Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman. Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito announced during her recent State of the City address that Independent Commission on New York City Criminal Justice and Incarceration Reform will examine measures to improve the City’s criminal justice system and its incarceration practices.

The Independent Commission will have leaders from criminal justice reform organizations, community groups, the judiciary, former prosecutors and the defense bar, academia, corrections, advocacy groups and the business community to examine reforms to criminal justice and incarceration in New York City.
